Since being elected to the Alaska State Senate in 2018, I have worked every day to improve the lives of Alaskans through effective leadership, community engagement, and bipartisan collaboration.​
LEGISLATION SIGNED INTO LAW ( Pending )

• Requiring the Department of Public Safety to post Policies and Procedures

Leadership

- Oversees state audits and investigations.
- Promotes transparency, accountability, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars.
• Chair, Legislative Council Joint Committee (2022 to 2024)
- Oversee legislative operations and policies statewide.
Education Advocacy
• Consistent advocate for increased public education funding.
• Supported efforts to improve student achievement and classroom resources.
• Championed civics education, mental health education, and lifesaving CPR training.
• Introduced a companion bill to support educational opportunities for deaf and hard-of-
hearing students.
• Drafted legislation to support educational opportunities for the blind and visually
impaired.
• Introduced legislation to include Asian American and Pacific Islander history in
educational curriculum.
Community and Cultural Recognition
• Led efforts to celebrate Alaska’s diversity and recognize the contributions of
underrepresented communities.
• Sponsored legislation and resolutions honoring Alaska Natives, Hispanic, Black, and
Filipino Americans, Hmong veterans, and other cultural groups that have enriched
Alaska.
Constituent Service
• Assisted hundreds of constituents in navigating state agencies and resolving issues involving:
- Permanent Fund Dividends
- Public assistance programs
- Licensing and regulatory matters
- Veterans’ services
- Senior services
- State government agencies
Capital Budget and Community Projects
Worked to secure funding for projects benefiting Anchorage and surrounding communities, including:
• School improvements
• Public safety needs
• Transportation infrastructure
• Community facilities
• Deferred maintenance projects
A Record of Collaboration
Throughout my Senate service, I have worked across party lines to build consensus, listen to
constituents, and advocate for practical solutions that strengthen Alaska’s families, schools,
businesses, and communities.
